Just caught wind that the hourlong session we did for the incomparable Dublab whilst in Los Angeles last november can be listened to here: http://dublab.com/archive/the-books-a-collage-crystallization-11-23-09/
This program contains some of the more obscure and absurd found music and spoken word cutups from our library, most of which probably won’t make it onto any of our records, for musical, practical, personal, commercial, ethical and esthetic reasons… well, mostly a matter of taste, I’d say.
That evening we also performed an unforgettable show at Hollywood Forever. Playing at this cemetary was one of the more surreal experiences of our performing lives: our living audience of about 400 was far outnumbered by the deceased, probably 1:100. Then last saturday we played for the opening of the brand new and rather spectacular Centre Pompidou in Metz, France http://www.centrepompidou-metz.fr/. We were told there were about 40,000 people in attendance, and they all seemed quite alive and well. I did get the feeling however that there were but three people who had heard our music before: Nick, Brendon, and myself. What a night.
